
Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority (MTJA) was established as a statutory body to assume all rights and responsibilities on behalf of the two Governments to explore and exploit the non-living resources, particularly petroleum, in this overlapping continental shelf area known as the "Joint Development Area" (JDA).
The MTJA, with its Office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is pleased to offer
training opportunites with MTJA for Malaysian and Thai students. A maximum of two trainees will be accepted in the program each year. The training period will cover a 12 - 16 weeks period during year 2012
(Students must indicate their own proposed training period in the application letter). A training program will be established to suit the students once they are accepted to the program. During the period, the student trainees are expected to acquire necessary knowledge in upstream exploration and production activities of the JDA and be exposed to project management skill with our operators, Carigali-PTTEPI Operating Company Sdn. Bhd. and Carigali Hess Operating Company Sdn. Bhd.
The training will take place at MTJA's and our operators' office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Requirements:
- 1) Being a third or fourth year student in Thai or Malaysian's university
- 2) Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
- Engineering (Preferably with Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Petroleum, Mining, Geological, and Civil engineering).
- Geological Science (Geology and Geophysic).
- 3) Mininum CGPA 2.75.
- 4) Good command of spoken and written English.
MTJA will provide traveling costs and necessary allowances to cover living, transportation, and accommodation expenses during the training period.
The application letter enclosed with student's resume, transcript, statement of purpose, a nomination letter from the university, a proven of English proficiency, and a testimonial from the university should be sent to MTJA by 15th January 2012:
